As RadioShack moves out, Sprint moves in.

Sprint announced plans to open mini-shops in more than 1,700 defunct RadioShack stores just one day after the company filed for bankruptcy.

Sprint would take up about one-third of the retail space in each store, and employees would sell mobile devices and Sprint plans.

The deal will allow Sprint to grow branded distribution quickly and cost-effectively.
